InstaFriday - On Saturday

My perfectionist nature almost precludes me from posting this on Saturday when it has the title "InstaFriday." But I'm telling myself, "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful" and marching forward.

This time last week, we were on our way to the City of Jefferson for State Track. Our Faith ran in the 4x200 meter relay and jumped her way to happiness in the triple jump. We didn't do as well as we had hoped, but we made it to State, for crying out loud!

I love #6
No trip to Jeff City is complete without a stop by Central Dairy for some yummy ice cream.

It was unseasonably hot, so the ice cream was very welcome
You go through Lake of the Ozarks to get to Jeff City, so on the way home, we hit the Outlet Mall. Faith had to stay with her team, but we wanted to get her a pair of shorts at the Nike Outlet. This is where your camera phone comes in extra handy.
Which one do you want, Faith?
Sunday afternoon was relaxed and lazy. The girls vegged on our screen porch with a friend....

Manicure time! Elizabeth says our house is cold...

Tuesday was a big day. My mom  and my dear friend, Marla, both celebrated their birthdays!  My friend, Sue, of Life Moves Pretty Fast fame,  and I took Marla out to lunch at The Tea Garden Cafe. The food was great. The conversation was greater.

love these ladies

Then, for mom, we put on the dog at supper - a big steak dinner. Afterward,  our Faith and Mary Grace sang and played two songs for her - Amazing Grace and Change My Heart O God. This was their debut concert, and, I know I'm their mother and all, but it was amazing. Grandma thought so too...

This week, I decided to get serious about memorizing scripture. So I downloaded what I think is the most amazing app out there. It's called  Fighter Verses. You get a verse (or 2) a week to learn. There are all kinds of helps on the app, my favorite being that you can listen to the verse over and over. I took advantage of that feature while running errands and on my walk. I didn't worry with my headphones - just turned on the "listen" feature and let it repeat for a few minutes. I can't recommend this high enough. There are very few apps that can boast being life changing and eternal. This one can.

And finally, look at the cuteness I get to see every day!

Thanks again for sharing my week with me.

I'm off today to Springfield with my girls for a play day!  Fun!
