My Tribe's Vibe: Do-Over-->Yes Ma'am

I don't know how it happened, but this southern girl did not have her children say, "Yes, Ma'am," "No, Ma'am," "Yes, Sir," and "No, Sir."

What was wrong with me? I cut my teeth answering adults like that.

It would be a total Do-Over if this parent could go back.

It's southern.

It's polite.

It's respectful.

Yes ma'am. It sure is.

Woulda, couda, shouda.

Wow! What adorable children! ;)

  1. We attempted to teach our kids, but the culture was sooooo against us in Florida, we were marginally successful. Like, only one out of the 5 really got it, the others were in and out a lot! (Kelly West)

  2. I totally laugh at the southern stereotype this evokes, but you're right about it being polite. Then again I, at 29 and married four years, still cringe when people call me "Mrs.", though not as badly as when they call me "Miss" or worse yet "young lady".
